ARI 345 Retro in use as a mobile library vehicle in Reinickendorf

With the ARI 345 retro cargo trike with box body, the Reinickendorf City Library brings books and educational offers directly to the people. The all-electric vehicle is specifically on the road in schools and kindergartens in the district to raise awareness of the library and get children interested in reading at an early age.

The vehicle and concept are called "Bib Bee" - library bee. Under the guiding principle of "BibBee swarms out into the spaces with greater flexibility", the cargo trike complements the city library's existing services and creates new, mobile access to education and culture.

The box body is clearly laid out and functional. In addition to storage space for a selected range of media, the vehicle has an integrated pull-out with a laptop, which is used for borrowing and returning books. This means that library work can also be fully implemented on the move.

As part of a sustainable and diversity-sensitive mobile service, the ARI 345 Retro is a useful addition to the existing mobile library fleet. The selected range of media on board complements the mobile event formats and is aimed at children as well as senior citizens and educational professionals and caregivers.

The Humboldt Library, Reinickendorf's central district library, remains the central point of reference. Designed by American architect Charles Moore, built between 1987 and 1989 and now a listed building, it is a lively place for reading, learning and cultural encounters with over 100,000 media and a wide range of events.

The cargo trike is also technically designed for everyday use in the district: As standard, the ARI 345 Retro achieves a range of up to 55 kilometers with the built-in SLA battery. Quiet, locally emission-free and flexible, Bib Bee shows how modern mobility and contemporary library work go hand in hand.
