ARI Poly climbing ability in the test: city, country & off-road
The ARI Poly is the classic electric car for the city center and short distances - but how does it perform when going uphill? Can it only master inclines on asphalt, or can it also tackle meadows and country lanes? We have carried out the ARI Poly climbing ability test and present you with the most important facts.
Over 20% climbing ability - confidently uphill
With a climbing ability of over 20% (approx. 11° incline), the ARI Poly:
-
steep garage entrances
-
Ramps in parking garages
-
hilly city districts
-
Mountain passes in low mountain ranges and the foothills of the Alps
Thanks to the powerful electric motor, the full torque of 110 Nm is available immediately from 0 rpm. Jolt-free starting on any gradient is guaranteed - even with a full load.
Hill-holder function for stress-free starting on slopes
If you come to a standstill in stop & go traffic on a hill, you are familiar with rolling back: Not so with the ARI Poly. The Hill Holder function automatically holds the vehicle in position for up to three seconds when you take your foot off the accelerator. As soon as the traffic light turns green or the obstacle is gone, all you have to do is press the pedal lightly - and the Poly continues on its way.
18 cm ground clearance - even for unpaved roads
Asphalt is not its only terrain: with around 18 cm of ground clearance and tires with good grip, the ARI Poly masters it effortlessly:
-
Meadow and field paths
-
Forest and gravel roads
-
cobblestones and driveways
So you can get anywhere, not only in the urban jungle, but also in the countryside.
Practical range & recuperation
Riding uphill consumes more energy, but thanks to recuperation when rolling downhill, you can recover up to 15 % of the braking energy. The range of up to 203 km can therefore be around 15% less on hilly terrain, for example - but still more than enough for everyday use in the city and surrounding areas.
Conclusion: Versatile everyday companion
Whether you live on a slope, commute to work every day or take trips into the countryside - the combination of over 20% climbing ability, hill-holder function and 18 cm ground clearance makes the ARI Poly the perfect small electric car for the city, countryside and hilly terrain.
